I'm Jessica, I live in Colorado with my kids, husband and 3 fur babies. My plant journey really began when my grandfather died in 2014. I had the gift of taking a Peace Lily from the funeral, and I have cared for her ever since. It brings me such joy to watch her grow and flower! When COVID hit in March, I decided that I wanted to get "plant or two" to keep in the house. One plant turned into two, and 176 plants later I found out I am a plant parent at heart, and what a gift it is!
I created this space to share all of the things I have learned on my plant journey. Whether you're a new plant parent, a hobbyist, or anything in between, if you're plant lover, you have found the right place! Welcome, and I can't wait to grow together!
Q: Where do your plants and flowers come from?
Our plants and florals are sourced from locally owned and operated wholesale nurseries in Colorado. Propagation is another source of our plants; we mindfully grow from cuttings and give them all of the love!
Q: Why keep plants in their nursery pots?
Plants thrive in their nursery pots! They have the appropriate bottom drainage, making it simple to bottom water you plants. If you're looking for the aesthetic of a decorative pot, try finding one without a drainage hole and set your nursery pot inside of the decorative pot!
Q: What is bottom watering and why choose this method?
Bottom watering is a method of watering plants that allows the plants to decide how much water they need. This is a great option for watering your plants because they will only drink what they need, decreasing overwatering and chances of root rot. To bottom water your plants, simply place them in plastic saucers and fill about 1/3 of the way with water. Let the plant drink for about 30 minutes and then dump the excess water out. Plants are especially susceptible to root rot in the winter months because they often get over watered, causing root rot.
Q: Do you treat your plants with pesticides?
Our plants are not treated with any pesticides. This is a result of customer preference when purchasing plants. If you would like your plant to be treated prior to coming home, please let us know! We will use an all natural solution to treat for pests. We do everything we can to make sure your plants are pest free; however, there is always a risk of one slipping by!

Q: What is your return policy?
We are unable to accept returns at this time.
Q: What happens if my plant dies?
Mrs. Fancy Plants provides complementary care support for all of our plant parents! You can reach out to us on social media or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are having issues with your plant, please reach out promptly with a photo and description of the problem you are having. Mrs. Fancy Plants will replace your plant if it dies within 7 days of purchase! If your plant dies, please do not discard the plant, we require the original plant at the time of replacement! This is so we can assess the cause of the damage or illness in the plant and do our best to avoid future issues!
